I was a newcomer to the area & didn’t know a soul. We had just gone through great financial loss. I was grieving yet expectant that GOD had prepared me for something. At a regional prayer meeting I overheard a lady talking about starting something. I inquired and asked to volunteer. From the first day until now I have been enveloped into the Grace and Mercy family.
My sadness, grief, loss and pain has melted away through this ministry. I was a weary soul who needed help and healing and wanted to be a part of helping and healing others. I volunteered, organized, decorated, cleaned, painted, prayed, worked as a tech, worked as the Bookkeeper and now manager of the Grace and Mercy Thrift Shop.
Personally, I have been changed by being a part of the Grace and Mercy Family. I healed while participating in every aspect of this organization. All the while seeing women’s lives changed and rearranged right in front of my eyes. I saw broken, wounded, hurting, addicted women come through the doors and be loved, challenged, forgiven and transformed by our HEAVENLY FATHER through the GENUINE, REAL, GRACE AND FAITH of staff and volunteers and the training, classes, experiences, counseling, grace filled family.
Grace and Mercy is not a rigid, rule oriented program but one that encourages making choices toward goals that changes the trajectory of their lives. AS the women learn and grow they begin to see it is the willingness of the heart to move toward and with GOD that will help them make the choices to live life in a new and abundant way.
As I’ve been enveloped in the life and culture of Grace and Mercy and become more educated the area of addiction and rehabilitation, I love the genuine faith and emphasis on relation ship that grace and mercy is built upon. That is the the heart of GOD and that’s what I want to support.
